The German Unicycle Championships of 2025 were so, so nice. I learned new things in the workshops and had a lot of fun in the competitions. I also really enjoyed spending time with my friends, my teammates of Unicycle Forever and seeing so many unicyclists in one place again!Â
FLATLAND
The event kicked off in the gym with free riding and some workshops on Friday evening. For me it was really nice to finally see some progress in different trick-categories again!

On Saturday morning the flatland qualifications took place in the gym. I knew my run was difficult, so I was really nervous. It ended up working out pretty well. I had 2 fails but managed to still land one of those tricks in the last second! Saturday afternoon we all went to the ‘City Beach’ for the flatland finals. I really enjoyed watching the ‘Lower Brackets’ together with my friends and teammates. Then it was time for the finals!

My first battle went pretty well. I decided to go with my 540 as last trick. Because I wanted to land it on the Stadtstrand too. The concrete ground at the Stadtstrand is pretty good for riding, but if you just got used to riding at a gym it can be a bit challenging. I landed it on my first try!

Then the second battle, in which we battled for first and second place. The battle went pretty head-to-head. I attempted 540 as last trick again, but even after two tries it just wasn’t working. I think my legs were too tired, and I couldn’t come up with an easier trick on the spot. To be fair I think I kind of wanted to just land the 540. But on my final try I also sadly did not land it.

STREET
On Sunday was street! The weather forecast for Sunday had been pretty confusing the whole weekend. But on Sunday morning it became clear that riding on the usual skatepark would not be possible due to rain. But, thankfully a different part of the skatepark was covered by a roof. Together we collected different obstacles from all around the park. With pallets, tires, ramps, rails and picnic benches an actually nice street setup was built. And eventually the rain-safe park was born!

My qualification run went pretty well! I didn’t make it too hard because I was pretty tired from the previous days. But instead I tried to focus a bit more on consistency, and maybe a bit more on overall style. After that I helped with judging the qualifications for the adult female category. I really enjoyed the judging, and the snacks.

Eventually it was time for finals. I practiced a few last tricks, and then it was already time to ride! The finals went really well, and I even landed some new things. I landed a drop in with a 180 twist, and there was also this rail grind which was really scary for me. But I’m glad I went for it and landed it as one of my last tricks!Â

Overall I had an amazing three days, which couldn’t have happened without the organization. So, big thanks to team RideOne, Ian and many other volunteers for not only making it possible, but also for making it so good! Big thanks to Roos for the coaching and the fun. Thanks to all of my friends for the good times and the nice memories! And thanks to everyone for filling the event with good vibesssss. See you at DUC or EUC!
