The Dutch unicycle road championships (NKE) were a lot of fun. For the first time in years we competed on a different track. The “Pijnenburg Parcours” in Tilburg is really nice. Is part of a huge sport-park in a very green natural area with streams and such. Really nice.
The NKE is basically the only road/track-race I annually compete in as I focus on urban-disciplines and my theaterwork. I sometimes compete in a German track-race or ride a track-distance in France, but I’m always present at NKE in The Netherlands.
I started with a heavy crash on the 800 metres. Dutch paramedics were quick to respond and got me back on my feet in no time so I was able to compete in the 10Km that directly followed the 800 metres. I rode a few new personal bests and had a lot of fun with my friends.
See you next year at NKE, wherever it might be held in 2026.
