On December 10 I was invited to sports-cafe in my hometown of Zwolle where local sport-heroes were celebrated. The 2025 edition of the Dutch magazine – “Gouden Sportkoers”was also launched. In the magazine I’m featured in a spread on pages 36-37. It was fun and an honour to have a place amongst the “Top Athletes” of the lovely Hanseatic Town in which I was born and raised.

I’m really happy with the exposure urban unicycling as a sport ended up getting. It’s not often that such a small sport is presented together with huge sports like Football, Tennis, Kickboxing, horse-riding, Swimming and Athletics. Loved every second of the event.

I was asked to take my unicycle on stage to show some tricks. Didn’t throw really big tricks as I had been sitting for over two hours through diner and a few speeches. Didn’t want to risk injuries or a nasty fall. But still managed to impress over 150 people present.

In the interview I could tell a bit about the Belgian– and French Championships that both went really well. As I was also allowed to take a guest, I went together with my grandma. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the food, the attention and the warmth of all people involved with Gouden Sportkoers.
